Mountain Biking

Mountain biking is huge in Lochaber. The home of the best downhill race in the world cup circuit also has endless oportunity for beginers and experts, downhill buzz and wild cross country. The network of man-made trails in Leanachan Forest, The Witch's Trails, are a delight to ride when you know your way around. The trails are very easily accessed from Fort William along the designated cycle path. Further afield, stalkers paths and dirt tracks link the glens and lochs many miles from the roads. You can ride all day without touching tarmac and without seeing a car.

Intro Skills
It is very easy to get started. Bikes are easily available to buy or to hire in Fort William and little other specialist gear is required. However it is a very different experience riding off road for the first time and an intro skills course will run you through all you need to know. You'll learn how to set up your bike for comfort and performance, simple maintenance and on route repairs. Coaching your riding will be progressive and focused on your confidence. You'll go away with the confidence to find and ride trails not known to you with confidence. With twenty years of experience we have much to teach you!

Advanced Skills
Having been riding for a while this course will give you the skills to flow down the trails and get the most out of your bike. After a quick check that your bike is set up well for you we'll head out and ride some trails. Coaching will be aimed at getting you confident and fluid in your riding on all sorts of trails. Intensive sessions on key skills will be mixed with longer rides to put it all into practice. See if you can ride the world cup downhill in five days of coaching!

Guided Rides
There are miles of trails to enjoy within easy reach of Fort William. The trick is knowing which are good and which are bog trots! Enjoy the best of west coast biking without the strain of choosing the trail, finding the way or organising transport. We'll guarantee great riding, all day routes that take you right into the heart of the hills and put the mountain back into the biking!

For your coaching or personal guiding by the day on Scotland's best trails the prices are shown in the table below.
